Former Sun Trust Bank Chief Executive, Jibrin Muhammad Barde, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the good people of Gombe State on the 21st anniversary of return to Democracy.
Barde particularly commended President Buhari for steering the country out of the woods of corruption and bad governance that has hindered our national development.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, Barde said PMB took over the administration of the country at a most difficult period adding that the country’s pride and dignity has been restored and the battered image of the country rebranded making it truly the giant of Africa.
He urged state governments to emulate the sterling examples of the President by putting the interests of the people ahead of theirs and to demonstrate their commitments by implementing the policies of the PMB led government.
He appealed to the people of Gombe not to give up but to be resilient and prayerful hoping that their expectations would be met now or in future.
He promised to continue to support them in his own little way and to share opportunities with the youths who are in dire need of personal development.
According to him, Nigeria has not done badly despite the challenges locally and globally and expressed optimism that going forward with implicit trust in Allah, Gombe State and the country would experience improved governance that would be all inclusive with dividends of democracy available not only to a section of the populace but to all.
While seeking support for both the state government and the federal government, he urged patriotism and advised continued hygiene as the world battles the COVID-19 pandemic.
